Dr. Tiphanie Gibbs is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist and has dedicated the last 12 years to learning and understanding relationships, specializing in couple relationships. A 23-year retired Navy veteran, she employed her counseling experience with military members and their families who were struggling through relational conflict, communication, infidelity, parenting, and work/life balance issues. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, Dr. Tiphanie seeks to empower couples, individuals, and families to overcome personal obstacles to improve their relationships. Utilizing clinically tested and evidence-based interventions, she seeks to secure long-term solutions to a wide variety of relationship issues leading people to become happier with themselves and the lives they have created.
Trained as an Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) therapist, Dr. Tiphanie seeks to help strengthen couples’ connection, open up with each other and build/rebuild their relationship bonds. She provides a safe, warm, nonjudgmental, and empathic atmosphere to build a relationship with you and help you reach your goals. As a Certified PREPARE/ENRICH Facilitator, she has a strong commitment to helping dating, newlywed, and veteran couples strengthen and revive their relationships utilizing the PREPARE/ENRICH curriculum. She also provides short and long-term therapy through the use of Solution-Focused and Cognitive Behavioral therapies.
Dr. Tiphanie earned her Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy specializing in Couples Therapy from Northcentral University. In her dissertation titled, “Protective Factors for Marital Stability in Long-Term Marriage Among African American Couples”, she addressed the problem of unidentified protective factors and strengths of African American couples to expand upon the current knowledge of perceived marital stability resources for this population with four major themes emerging and recommendations for future practice and research.
